Masters of Health Administration (Online Delivery)

University of SaskatchewanThe Master of Health Administration (MHA) program focuses on building management, administrative and policy capacity for the next generation of health system leaders. This is especially important as senior managers are confronted with issues of succession planning and require staff with strong leadership skills, critical thinking competence and aptitude for using innovative approaches to solve unquestionably complex issues.

Students will develop the knowledge required to contribute to improving the effectiveness of program and policy development, implementation and evaluation, as well as effectiveness in health service delivery, and managerial and administrative performance. The MHA degree prepares students for positions that require advanced management and strategic ability, policy knowledge and skills, and exceptional analytical and evaluation capacity.

The part-time, online delivery format allows busy professionals to pursue advanced education in a flexible manner that accommodates the many demands on their time. Courses are highly interactive using varied multimedia discussion forums and supportive text‐based materials. In addition to their coursework, students participate in two brief in-person residency periods. Held over a weekend at the University of Regina campus, the residencies involve group exercises including case studies, management simulations, breakouts and presentations, and create important learning and networking opportunities for students.

This program is administered by the Johnson-Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy’s University of Regina campus, and is delivered online by JSGS faculty members and experienced health system practitioners and leaders.
