As we say goodbye to Alex Harris (co-chair), Janet Law (membership), and Ryan Doherty (Events), we are happy to announce four new Executives who have joined the EHL Toronto team:
Michelle Moonesar, Co-Chair
Michelle Moonesar is an ambitious MBA candidate at McMaster University’s DeGroote School of Business specializing in Health Services Management. She also holds an Honours Bachelor of Science degree which along with her extra-curricular leadership experiences sparked her interest in health care administration. She has a passion for clinical project management and quality improvement. She has experience as an Administrative Coordinator at Hamilton Health Sciences where she developed several skills and knowledge of the health care sector. Michelle has travelled to Nicaragua and Costa Rica as a volunteer to bring mobile medical clinics to rural areas. As an EHL executive, Michelle is looking forward to continue to give back to the health care community and support leadership development.
Helen Ng, Membership Lead
Helen is a Clinical Research Associate at SickKids hospital. Her role mainly consists of assisting with the management and coordination of a national research study that aims to improve pediatric outcomes in transplantation. She holds a bachelors of science in life sciences degree from McMaster University and a Masters of Science in kinesiology degree from the university of Waterloo. Throughout her schooling, she has volunteered with different patient populations such as individuals with spinal cord injuries and individuals undergoing treatment for cancer, in exercise settings. Helen’s current interests include technology transfer and commercialization and finding ways for which research can make the broadest impact possible. She is also interested in learning more about health innovation and health systems research. As an EHL member, she is interested in meeting others that work in areas of health that she has not encountered and helping fellow members make meaningful connections.
Tharshini Navaratnarajah, Events Management Lead
Tharshini Navaratnarajah is a project management professional with several years of experience in healthcare. She currently works as a Project Manager at the Central Community Care Access Centre and prior to this at Canadian Partnership Against Cancer. Tharshini completed the Science and Business program at the University of Waterloo and holds a Honors Bachelor of Science degree. As a member of the EHL executive, she looks forward to connecting with emerging health leaders and providing opportunities for EHL members to meet and share knowledge through engaging events.
Catherine Wang, Financial Management Lead
Catherine Wang has recently graduated from the School of Public Policy and Governance at the University of Toronto. She also holds a Bachelor of Economics from York University. Currently, Catherine is a policy analyst at the Ontario Ministry of Labour. Prior to joining the Ministry, she interned at Public Health Ontario and worked on the Smoke Free Ontario Action Plan by providing evidence-based policy analysis. Outside her policy work, she is also an entrepreneur. She founded a Mandarin training school called Fir+Pine that provides the most interactive and engaging classes to her students.
As part of the executive at EHL, Catherine looks forward to working with health professionals and emerging young leaders, helping them connect and engage, making great changes in the field!
